Week of November 14th
Due to my recent bout of the plague, the class blog has been sadly out of date. I'm hoping not to make a habit of that -- catching the plague or getting behind in the blog. What's new for the week of November 14th, you ask?
Monday ... We will screen a clip from the film Philadelphia and flex our new muscles by practicing using film terminology. How do you "read" a movie like the professionals? We'll also choose our scenes for the storyboarding activity and tie up some other loose ends.
Homework: Reread your scene in the book and write a solid paragraph that describes your vision for the film adaptation to share with your group tomorrow.
Tuesday ... Begin storyboarding in groups. I will also review quarter grades at this time.
Remainder of the week ... Finish storyboarding and share your scenes with the class. We'll also have our first literature circle meeting and if there is magically extra time begin to watch the famous director version of Snow Falling on Cedars.
Reminder: Please return your copies of When the Emperor Was Divine to me.
