Week of January 2nd

Welcome back from vacation! I hope you had a great holiday and a happy start to the new year. Also that you'll be patient as I train myself to stop writing "2005" on everything. Between the holiday, the snow day, and "F" day, this was a very short week for us! Still, we managed to accomplish some things ...

Wednesday ... We're beginning a new unit that asks questions about how violence escalates in situations like Germany and Nazi occupied Europe in the 1930s, and why ordinary people allow themselves to get swept up by it all. We discussed a reading from the Facing History Resource Book called "No Time to Think."

Homework: Bring drafts of your book club papers to peer edit tomorrow.

Thursday ... Peer editing rough drafts of book club papers. Remember to cite your sources correctly! Click here for an MLA style guide.

Homework: Final papers due on Monday.

Friday ... No class, "F" day. Have a great weekend!
